Project 365 - Day 213

I have been watching the Olympics on and off since it started on Friday night, I have never had what you would call Olympic fever, but I thought it would be fun to watch with the boys. They have really taken to Water Polo! It's like soccer only in the water, we told them, so they like to watch. Here is Shaun and Evan watching the Men's Water Polo beat Romania this afternoon, cheering USA...USA...USA at the TV!

Project 365 - Day 212

David had his first day of Rec camp today. He will go all week from 8:30 to 4:30 and the theme for the week is the Olympics. He gets to swim, and play games and they will even hold a mock Olympics on the last day! It will be a nice trial run for what going to school all day will be like. He was pretty wiped when I picked him up but he LOVED it!

Project 365 - Day 211

I woke up this morning to the sound of our generator running. I Guess we had lost power at some point early this morning. The generator runs power to our TV, but the internet was down so they couldn't stream their shows in Netflix. Instead, the boys decided to chill on the couch and play video games while we waited for our power to return. It was only out for a little over an hour I think, and on a side note, it was the first time we've lost power since we had our generator was installed last Fall, nice to know that it works!

Project 365 - Day 209

Another lousy day, so we decided to pop in a movie and have a picnic in the living room! Today the boys got to experience the awesomeness that is the Karate Kid!

You're the best...around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you down!

Project 365 - Day 208

With the uncertainty of today's weather a park meet up with David's old preschool friend turned into an impromptu trip to the 7th Circle of Hell...er...um...I mean Chuck E. Cheese!  It actually wasn't that bad  and the kids had so much fun you would have thought we took them to Disney World and that is what is important...I guess! Ha!

Project 365 - Day 207

Guess it's that time of year already! We still have a month before school starts here in NH with a few fun trips and activities planned, but that didn't stop me from starting some back to school shopping this morning. There is something about buying a fresh box of Crayola crayons...

Project 365 - Day 206

Family Fun Day, at Canobie Lake Park, hit a hiccup mid-afternoon when a storm came through. We took cover at one of the game canopies but Shaun wanted to hold his umbrella. Here he is waiting out the storm! Luck was on our side as the storm was quick, with only a few bolts of lightning and cracks of thunder.

Project 365 - Day 202

Shaun is super proud of himself - over the last month he's really improved in swimming class. He is going longer and longer distances on his own and mastered the coordination of kicking and scooping!

Project 365 - Day 201

David and Shaun were running around with squirt guns chasing each other and Evan was feeling a little left out. After helping me water the flowers he decided to get even! Don't let his size fool you, just because he is the youngest doesn't mean he can't take on big brothers and WIN!

Project 365 - Day 200

Where is Evan? While big brothers were at music class this afternoon, Evan and I headed to the park that is behind the building. Here is Evan "hiding" from me while I tried to take his picture.

Project 365 - Day 191

Shaun loves to give the thumbs up, when he's proud of an accomplishment he's made! This thumbs up was for his driving skills! He's mastered the dune buggy and loves to drive it around the yard and especially down the hill!

Project 365 - Day 190

Before we left for vacation we took the training wheels off of David's bike. He did well, but he couldn't touch the ground very well (he's just at tad too short!) and I think that was keeping him from getting over that initial fear. We debated getting a balance bike for him to try first but we found it was cheaper to get a 12" bike, that Evan could start to use and just take the pedals off. So that is what we did. This afternoon he practiced on our "homemade" balance bike in the driveway and around the circle. He started to get the concept balancing and was having fun riding down the hill with his feet out to the sides!

Tonight before bed, we asked him if he thought he felt ready to try his bike with the pedals and no training wheels. He said YES! And so here he is feet on the pedals and flying down the hill and around the circle. I think he thought Daddy was holding on the whole time! He still needs a little bit more practice before he's perfect (he still has a hard time pedaling, especially uphill) but he was so proud of himself and yelled "That was AWESOME!" after he rounded the corner!

Project 365 - Day 189

Since we missed the fireworks here in town, I was so excited when my mom mentioned that the place nearby her camp was having them tonight and so we made plans to go!  We were at the camp celebrating my Mom's birthday today and the school was right on my way home.  When we pulled into the middle school, we saw that they not only had fireworks set up, but they had carnival games and rides! We got there early so we set up our blanket and got some treats and played a few games. Here are the boys with Grammy all ready for the fireworks to start! I have to say, Weare, NH may be in the middle of nowhere, but they put on a really great show and we had the best view! The boys had a blast, you wouldn't have even known they were up over an hour past their bedtimes (after having NO naps!), they were so in awe!

Project 365 - Day 188

Checking out the pigs at Beech Hill Farm...though I'm pretty sure the ice cream treat after was their favorite part!

Project 365 - Day 187

Our new popcorn machine! It was a gift from our very good friends and we couldn't wait to test it out tonight! The boys said it was the BEST. POPCORN. EVER!

Project 365 - Day 185

We left on Friday morning and pulled into the driveway tonight to a whole new house! Talk about a big change in a short amount of time! Still lots to do, but it's looking good. I can't wait to see it all finished with the cream trim.

Project 365 - Day 184

Look who has figured out how to swim by himself today! In a vest of course, but he didn't need anyone to hold him, nor would he LET anyone hold him once he figured out he could do it!! "Evan do it, Evan do it" he would say! File this under Proud Momma Moments!

Project 365 - Day 183

We finally got power back! We were in the process of contemplating changing hotels or just packing up and leaving. I was glad we were able to stay. With Daddy done early at the conference we headed into DC for dinner and to do a little monument site seeing. We parked over by the Jefferson Memorial and walked over to the Washington Monument. David was sad that he couldn't actually touch it, but it was still cool to see it close up today. We finished the walk down by the World War II memorial. The boys enjoyed sitting down and watching the different fountains.
