365 ~ 2016: Day 25

Evan is showing me the birds nest from his science field trip.  They talked about animals and if they migrate, hibernate, stay active or are dormant in the winter and then did an experiment with temperatures.  I had done this field trip with Shaun when he was in Kindergarten, and it was fun to go again with Evan!

365 ~ 2016: Day 21

Lately as soon as it hits 5pm in this house, the phone is ringing off the hook.  The beauty of caller ID is that we know it's either a sales call, political call or a survey call.  Normally we ignore...but it's getting beyond ridiculous, so we decided to let the kids start answering.  So far they haven't gotten a real person yet, but I can't wait.  We told them to talk about whatever they wanted, the only rule was that they cannot give out personal information and they should not under any circumstances tell them we are available!  Evan wants to talk about Skylanders!  They are a little too excited about this!

365 ~ 2016: Day 17

Trying to get my bearings on the slopes today.  You can teach an old dog new tricks, but they don't always remember after a long summer off.  I think some more lessons are in my future.

365 ~ 2016: Day 14

Evan was working so hard on his "pizzas" during free ski today and thanks to the help of my friend and co-chaperone, he made so much progress from last week.  His fear of going too fast is stopping him from moving ahead.  Hopefully he feels more confident during his lesson next week.

365 ~ 2016: Day 7

Evan's first Ski Club experience!  I think he was a little rusty today because he seemed to regress from where he left off last year from his camp experiences.  But he had fun with his instructor!

365 ~ 2016: Day 6

Shaun and Evan participated in an African drumming workshop today. Evan learned some dancing while Shaun kept the rhythm with his drum. I was happy to make it for the end so see them play. Shout out to Omi (Kathie) for taking them because cloning humans is illegal and I couldn't be in two places at once!

365 ~ 2016: Day 3

This kid LOVES to read.  Over the break his school challenged all the students to read 20 minutes each day and to log his minutes.  He kept his log up in his room and filled it out each night.  They also asked for pictures so I went up tonight to sneak a shot.  I must have caught him at a funny part of Roscoe Riley Rules, because when I loaded this onto the computer, I could see that I caught him mid-chuckle!
